Multiple Regions and other questions?
Hi All, after a few weeks on TwitCraft I am starting to get my head around things; however I have a couple of help questions?
1. Am I able to get multiple regions if I have buildings worth protecting?
e.g. I have a house/farm near the Northern DOT hub that I have protected. I have also build a Lighthouse nearby, the combined area would be too big to protect with one region, can I apply for an additional region for the Lighthouse?
2. Is there a list of all of the server mods that have been used that provide additional features to normal players? For example, in addition to SignShop; I have seen the Disposal and Device signs around, can we use those? I saw mention of the /money option to pay other players? What other features are available to us?
And, I am interested in getting into the economy side of things (I only have ATM money so far), I have accumulated a few resources and I am interested in setting up a shop; however I feel if you are not near the spawn then you might as well not bother??? and the cost / process of getting these plots seems difficult (even though there seems to quite a few undeveloped) - any hints?
Thanks
Craig (HGLCraft)

Re: Multiple Regions and other questions?
Craig,
Although I'm not a mod, I'll try to answer most of your questions:
Additional accounts allow for additional regions. At this time that is the only way I know of to have more than one region in each world. Otherwise, you are allowed to have one region in each world (survival, the end, nether, outworld, etc)
As for a specific list? I dont know. I do know that there are several mods regarding the economy allowing for: renting lots in leoville, the Signshop mod, money functions. Some of these require some online research. Signshop: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/signshop/pages/signs/ Note that the Disposal and Device signs (and many more) are part of signshop.
There is also the mail mod which has a built in help menu. type /mail in game to see.
Worldguard allows for region claiming. There are various flags (region settings) that can be changed .... the specifics here require research and experimentation. only a few of the possible flags are available to us: http://wiki.sk89q.com/wiki/WorldGuard/Regions/Flags
Craftbook's lift signs are another great mod that we have.
A lot of smaller features have come and gone too.
As for shops, they are fun but also a LOT of work. Every time a remodel happens or prices change, chests contents need to be emptied, new signs made, and stuff reprogrammed all over again. People tend to visit shops that are relatively close to spawn and either are surrounded by other shops (the mirage & the mall @ sky5) or shops that sell a large variety of goods. The malls charge a modest rent (100c-400c per month). The leoville lots charge a very large amount of rent (1500c per month). The reason that there are so many empty lots near spawn is that we are encouraged to NOT build too many shops/storage in leoville (lag) and that it is so very expensive. Your other option would be to buy/own a piece of land that is right up against leoville's border like dio's shop and my shop. Land ownership means no rent but property like that is very valuable and will likely be expensive.
I hope this helps.

Yeah! And you have to be wary of Pumpkin Men attacks.
I agree with everything Timber said, however. As a frequent-buyer, if someone says "Oh, I have that in my shop over at Hyrule," I am less inclined to visit because that's a long walk and I'm too lazy to figure out the rail systems. ;p

Re: Multiple Regions and other questions?
Thanks for the great information Timberwolf1777.
I had figured most of them out, good to know there is not much else I am missing out on
I have not been able to get my own Dispose sign to work (any tips?)
I have set up my base next to the Northern DOT hub (including my Lighthouse), I might create a small shop there just to get the hang of it, and then try to find something closer to the action later.
It did, thanks!

which is why i have a chain store with the same prodcuts at each location. but as i have not put much time in lately some of the stock may be running low. and i will address that when i can.
but i found multiple locations with central storage was the best way to be near spawn and hyrule. (one chest can be linked to multiple signs so i dont have 75 chests in my storage)
"Cakes to Dye for" is BACK . . . [west of main spawn]
We have many kinds of food, pies, all dyes and cake. No lie!

I think Teh_Rage is still planning to bring back the flea market at some point. I love the FM both as a place to sell and a place to find what I need. Its free to open a shop there too so you might keep an eye out for the re-opening or double check with Rage to make sure he hasn't changed his plans.

I was using Hyrule as an example, but yes that is a better alternative. Maybe create a small shop on land near spawn linked to chests far away.
Hmm... I kind of want to make a store now. I have a few ideas too... My problem? I'd undercut prices to the point no one would love me in the end...

Maybe a souvenir shop at the dome? You could sell wooden shovels, pick axes and cobble
