Anywho, had a great idea.
I'm going to put the destinations on the lobby destination column (yes, that is what I actually call it) in the order that you reach them, instead of the order that I made them :p

Another new thing that'll mostly be to save myself some sanity: Whichever coord is farther away from the lobby will be the road that it's on.

Reading back over that sentence, I realize that it only makes sense to me. Example: If say, the End Portal portal is at X: 15, Z: 124, then the Southern road (increasing the Z) will be the road that it branches off of.

Alternate explanation: You're going to walk farther on the main road than you will the branching road for your destination.

Important:
Please don't make your own roads branching off of the ones in place. Call me, and I'll make it within the week.

Roads made without contacting me first ARE subject to being blocked off/modified/removed without notice. So... yeah.
I know you guys mean well, but really, I'm totally CDO, and if it's even the slightest bit off, it drives me nuts.

If I'm not online for you to ask me, seriously, send me a PM on here. I check this daily, and I WILL see it and respond.

I extended the Neather road to my house and the Geo\Vantes Racetrack and stable awhile back FYI.
I also took vantes leoville spawn room idea and secure all my original neather walkways in the mid neather area with stone brick and iron bars. some of you may have seen the Glass test area I had by the Sky5 portal. Ghasts can't see you behind glass but every stray shot that hits one breaks it's. it only took a few weeks for it to look like crap.

Hmm... You've given me ideas for giant loop roads that branch off of the main path only to branch back further down the road... Maybe lava pit trap doors as well? ;)

PA,

Knowing how CDO Dragon is and how much work we both put into the Netherroad system, I have one thing to say to you because of your absurd post that is obviously meant to drive us nuts:

I'm offended, sir! Offended!

Just for that, I must ask that you assume the party escort submission position or you will miss the party.

Ok, I'm not totally distracted with other things. I am working on the redirect, got the North road mostly finished, started working on the others. I'll be needing more glowstone before long, so expect to restock your shops! :D

Thanks for your great work on the Netherroad - it's the only way to travel, if only I could use it with a horse!

I'll keep my eye out for Glowstone while Quartz hunting, although the current Resource World Nether is a pain to get around in.

Cheers

And thank you for the support! :)
Geo and I had an interesting idea for the Netherroad... not quite as awesome as a horse would be, but close. It involves something that sounds similar to bacon :D

Had an idea: instead of wasting a bunch of glowstone, I'm going to go through and replace all of the glowstone in the "old" Netherroad with jack o' lanterns. It doesn't look as good, but I should be done with the redirect soon. (How many months have I been saying that?)

Had kindof a big surprise today with a lot of glowstone replaced with jack-o-lanterns. I assume you are just moving the main cardinal direction roads over to center on the new hub and using the glowstone on the new roads instead? (With the jack-o-lanterns as interim lighting on the old road)

As for the beacon idea, I also have had that one for a while. I messed around with it in 1.5.1 but couldnt get any beacon to work in the nether anywhere other than above bedrock. Have you or Geo figured out how?

If so I would be happy to contribute a huge bunch of beacons to the roads AFTER the beacon disaster that is my shop has recovered by at least 50% (Meaning I need to sell off 43 beacons as of today) My shop supplies are currently shot completely.

Beacons require a view of the sky above. Since the Nether is a gigantic cave system, it's very unlikely to work.

It is in fact possible to put beacon below bedrock in the nether. (put a speed II one in nether spawn not too long ago) The placement though is very tricky. I believe there cant be any block changes above them (Says something on the wiki). I put up a temp beacon at netherroad level and got it to work. There will be lots of trial and error finding places that work but it can be done. :D

Yeah, lanterns are temporary. Once I get a bit more interest back in minecraft, I'll finish up the redirect and you won't have to see the lanterns anymore :)

Edit for the main design/planning/whateveritisI'mdoing. If there is a destination on the Netherroad, and another destination within 15 or so blocks of the road for the first destination, then I'll put multiple destinations on the same road. Gasp, I'm breaking my own rules!
Main reason I'm doing this because A. roads look like crap if I have them overlapping like they are, and B. makes it easier to get from one "linked" destination to another. Ex: The various Goobish destinations are all within 5 or so blocks of each other on the Z axis. Because of the format for the roads (5 blocks wide), and the destinations' z coords (102 and 104), if I were to do my normal thing, I would end up with a 6 block wide road and a lift sign near the middle of said abomination. Bleh. The new plan is better, and I'm rolling with it!
The entire purpose of this post was a heads-up and a distraction from breaking countless stacks of netherrack.

Also we need a netherroad to the east DOT hub, there's already a portal but no netherroad (that i am aware of)

Ummm. I made one. Hmmm. Did it get delinked? Or maybe the lift sign broken?
