I always *recommend* OptiFine, but I don't want anyone being able to claim that it's an unfair advantage. :)

If OptiFine is an unfair advantage, so is having a good gaming PC :P

So unfortunately, I have not been able to be on much lately. When I logged on last night,I was inspired by the progress made since I was last at the site. So 5 diamond unbreaking 3 picks later (well one pick, 4 repairs) I took out a massive chunk last night and we are only down to a third left! Lets rally and get it done by the end of weekend! I'm getting excited!

I was doing job-hunt stuff last night. Tonight is court-mandated (the court of my mom) family time with my siblings. I should be on late tonight.

I've had an eventful week.

Got into a car accident (minor, but I need to fix my new vehicle).

I decided to take a new job position and have about a week to pack and move. The job pays less, but has health/retirement benefits.

When I move, I'll be moving back in with my parents temporarily while I pay off my vehicle repairs and other assorted bills that have begun to pile up. It'll also give me a chance to save some money up and begin legitimately studying for certifications that I keep putting off.

All of this adds up to one thing: Less time online playing for the near future. I will keep you all up-to-date and I'll try to be on as much as I can, but I wanted to give fair warning in advance.

Sorry for the delay! I didn't get an e-mail saying you replied!

We can all openly discuss the design here, actually. I'll PM Robro to see if he can post some screenshots of the proposed design.

In the meantime, we are definitely going to need more sand for the wall leading down to the floor (see the exposed corner of the dry dock for an idea of what the final product will look like). We'll also need glowstone to illuminate the area around the Aquadome. Plain glowstone would be preferred because trying to get redstone lamps working while suffocating can be a pain. :D

Thanks, Robro!

The current plan is to shrink this design a bit. Basically, the first "tier" of seats and the arena floor would remain unchanged, but the back wall would be shrunken and placed behind the first tier, eliminating a few tiers of seating and reducing the height/overall footprint of the Aquadome significantly.

The big question is: What materials are we going to use to build it? Sandstone was the original suggestion, I know, but I wanted to see if anyone had any objections/preferences before we started building. I think smooth stone with glowstone highlights would look good on the ocean floor. I also think smooth sandstone with chiseled sandstone, lapis lazuli blocks, and glowstone borders/accents would look good.

Opinions?

I say we build it out of iron blocks, or obsidian ;)

i agree with that design PA. with it being on the sea floor i think as much sandstone/chiseled sandstone as we can. and lapis looks better than wool.

whatever the final design is, i would like the corrected plans to be up for download so i can place blocks, the right blocks when the bldg itself is ready to go. i have rob's download for now so i cna poke around in the design.

question, are there half slab chiseled sandstone?

If you combine two sandstone slabs, you get 1 chiseled sandstone block. Other than that? I dunno. :(
