the almot entirely stone brick build i am working on in hyrule require cobblestone is vast quantities, the main body of the castle was done but the twoers are empty and the basemtn is halls ceiling sna floors of stone brick

if i am free to take any cobble i find in the chests i will, i have a feeling theres more cobble in that pit than is needed, but i am hesitant to make anything dissapear from survival, especially when we have to mine it out anyway

The waste material/supply platform is hovering above the floor on the east end of the dry dock. The southern end has a block staircase leading to it, but there's also a lift sign on the north end.

Thanks to everyone who's been working on this! Opus and I finished clearing a major chunk on the east end Saturday and have begun working on the next area over. Be careful on the east side because lighting is a bit spotty due to the constantly shifting nature of the build. I'll post some screenshots when I get home this afternoon.

Abigail and I believe a few others have also lowered the main floor a couple of blocks. This may not sound like much, but when you consider the area (128x92x2) you'll realize the massive amount of material they've cleared!

Again, thanks to all who have helped so far!

about 1/3 of a layer fills my inventory up to 1.5 times, so 1.5 layers over 2 days is... alot of sand. ive been turning some of it into sandstone and its still a lot of sandstone.

whether or not i go over what i need in cobble-to-smoothstone for Hyrule castle, there will be lots to use for stone mats for the aquadome. its too bad there was no forest on top or wed have wood for fencing/torch stands and torches and things

I have a decent stash of wood plus some ideas for more. We'll need to figure out which type and how much once we get the main structure built. There's a chest full of smoothstone you're welcome to over in the dumping area. I've also set up some more empties that you can use to dump if needbe.

hmm, thought for a game, release a pack of wolves into the arena and aggro them for a survival game? even with no pvp flags it would still be a fight

Sounds like a great game! I came up with one using boats where you have to punch the opponent's boat out from under them.

I like the potential of this project! Keep the ideas coming, people! :)

I had thought of a similar game as abi; Gladiator matches... One/multiple players against a pack of mobs... Would require spawn eggs or command blocks though... It would be fun though to watch a player take on say 20 cave spiders..... :)

yes, the far eastern end is down to y20, and the outer wall is to the necessary dimensions, we jsut need everything level down to that.

and caslte hyrule sewers are gobbling up the smoothstone as bricks. i can work for less than a hour and empty my inventory on that basment. but ill take the cobblestone and smelt it myself, lava is easy to get

Yep! Everything needs to be at Y=20. If you encounter a cave on one of the 4 dry dock walls, make sure to block it off and do your best to light the area for mob protection, yadda yadda.

This reminds me! I spotted a lava pit under the build and you are all welcome to it if you want!

Quick Update: This week has been a mess and I probably won't be on much/at all this weekend. Too much real-life stuff going on.

I'll try to hop on Friday from my parents' house, but no guarantees unfortunately.

I would be more than willing to help build. I cannot speak on mumble due to a lack of a mic, and cannot supply materials, but I however, have a very large amount of experience of building large structures in minecraft and I good eye for detail. I live in Central Standard Time (-6 GMT) and would love to help build.

Here's some newer screenshots:

Everyone is free to come and help clear. Once we're done clearing, we'll need to come up with a way to organize the building of the actual coliseum. We have a design in mind, but we're shrinking it a bit to make it more manageable and therefore it'll take a bit of coordination so we're not messing each other up. :)

Another round of screenshots. I've fixed the lighting on the floor of the dry dock and I've also begun placing a layer of sand, as you can see in the pics. For any future workers: Please follow the lighting pattern I started on the floor. It keeps the mobs away. :)

One potential problem I've spotted so far: A Slime was on the floor this afternoon. We might have to look into regioning the area once we're done and turning off mobs -- We'll cross that bridge when we get there. :)

i dont know how to use worldedit, but someone with a copy of the part that is the only portion we are building so that everyone can have a copy w/o certain ppl being online(i dont know how, hyrule castle is the entire castle so no world editing and i have that in my single player worlds so i can build away and not overwrite someone elses work)

i was on the personal server where we discussed how much of the colliseum we are actually bldg, but w/o tearing it apart on my own computer (hyrule caslte single player i ripped out a layer above the ground so i could see the outline of the outer wall increative and had a back up file in case i needed to reload the world) in order to be as accurate as i want to be

the alternative is to tear up what we dont want in creative and distribute that between the builders. but with someone hosting the castle on some minecraft builders site there was no need to email attachments around

Robrotheram still has that private map saved on his PC. Once we get the area cleared, I'll probably grab a copy and shave off everything we don't need then I guess I'll host it so everyone can snag an updated copy from me.
