Abigail - You brought a bunch of glass and I brought a whole double chest as well. We're going to need more, I'm sure, but we also have a bunch of sand that's in the process of being melted down. I'll post next week if we start getting low.

i've been doing the glass work and i wonder if i should put the glass on the very top of the dome or are we going to make it look more "Dome-y"

You lost me. Do you mean place the glass on the inside of the column vs. the outside?

i.e. Like this:

If the build was deeper underwater, a fancy dome might be nice. Since the top is so close to the surface, I think a flat glass square would probably be best.

EDIT: I know we're low on Quartz. I'll be on to buy some more tonight.

OK - Thanks mostly to gregor1942 and opusnut, the glass dome is almost complete! We are low on glass at the moment, but I believe we'll have enough to finish. We will then begin work on the wall for the promenade area (the ground-floor entrance to the Event Floor). I was having some problems with rubberbanding last night, so I'm not sure how reliable my Internet connection will be from the hotel.

Please don't forget the Sculpture contest is still being held for another week! All applicants, except for the two players I mentioned last night , are welcome! All submissions will be displayed on the forum anonymously and votes will be made without knowing who actually designed the work. There will be prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place! The hotel Internet connection is awful. I watched geo magically teleport multiple times from one side of the Event Floor to the other, watched blocks break, disappear, then reappear, etc. :/

I broke out the middle square to see what the ocean view looked like from the floor. Pretty cool.

When we were in the clearing stage, I would have loved some TNT. Some well-placed charges would have made this a piece of cake.

I doubt I'll be on tonight. I was at work until almost midnight last night, expected to be back here at 7:30 this morning, and the hotel Internet is awful anyway. I should be able to get on late Saturday for a bit, barring any problems with my flight, etc.

Latest News: We're gearing up to start working on the bottom level. Right now, we're going to need glass or sand that can be converted to glass/sandstone. If you wish to donate, look for the chests in what will be the main entrance beneath the D.O.T. Hub. I'll leave a double chest unlocked for easy dumping starting tonight. We'll also need some quartz and glowstone but, due to the rarity, I suspect I will be buying most of that.

We're going to have to take an unplanned break on the project due to real life issues (work, personal, etc. - Multiple people have stuff going on). I have a few smaller detailing projects I can work on tonight, but after that we'll be on-hold for a week or two. The planned grand opening this weekend will not occur, unfortunately.

I will announce the new date when I have some idea of how much longer it will take to complete the build and after I've made preparations for the opening ceremony. In the meantime, I will post the last batch of screenshots until we ramp back up tonight when I get home.

sorry about the no show on my glass and sand. the most ive been online was to check new spawn and get out. but if you still need mats i can try to get to the chests underneath (or throw down my own if there is a permissions/locked thing)
