ItemStay Plugin (or alike)

Postby The_ArchAvenger » 21 Jun 2012, 08:00

I think that due to the large number of shopping centers coming about nowadays we should have a way to display items we plan to sell (or just display having diamond stuff). This plugin would allow one to drop an item and have it stay there until they decide to remove it. I suppose that we should start a petition? I don't know so please reply someone.

Thanks, The_ArchAvenger

Looks neat, but there may be some problems. For one, floating items are entities in the game. The more entities there are, the laggier the game/server can be. Mobs also count as entities. The server has a plugin to limit entities right now to reduce lag. If there are too many entities in the game and the limit is hit, some of those disappear. I had this happen once when I accidentally destroyed the seed chest in Sky5 and lost quite a few of them. I also had to change the farm so you harvest one side at a time due to wheat and seeds disappearing.

But did limiting entities actually solve anything? I don't think I've noticed any change.

Well you see what i believe it does (from experience on my server) is that it creates a fake version of the item to display, whilst storing the information and ID elsewhere. At least I think (I'm not a programmer).
