TWiTCraft Lost Horse Project

Postby asim0v » 11 Mar 2014, 11:21

I am pleased to announce the TWiTCraft Lost Horse Project! The goal of the TWiTCraft Horse Project is to reunite lost horses with their owners. Have you seen a claimed horse just wandering around a city or the wilderness? File a modreq! One of your friendly moderators will move the horse to the TWiTCraft Horse Project HQ east of the Leoville City Hall.

I've found a lost horse. What can I do to help?
  • File a modreq from the location with the horse
  • That's it! Seriously, your job is done.
  • Thanks for being awesome to other players!

My lost horse has been turned in. How can I get it back?
  • Bring a saddle if you're not sure your horse had one when it was lost
  • Head over to the TWiTCraft Lost Horse Project east of the Leoville City Hall
  • Right-click the toggle sign to open the stall containing your horse
  • Ride on out the side exit
  • Return the favor and modreq any lost horses you see!

How long do I have to claim my horse?
  • You have 2 weeks (14 days) to claim your horse
  • Horses unclaimed after 2 weeks will have their owner removed and be available for anyone to tame!

Players that need to claim horses:
  • bjjunyong - added 3/16/2014
  • zelda_nut - added 3/23/2014
  • Mandy_02 - added 3/25/2014
  • Emstyle3000 - added 4/10/2014
  • TJMinerCrafter - added 4/10/2014
  • Bradleys04 - added 4/10/2014
  • vaintesthurdle - added 4/10/2014
  • twistedgamer2247 - added 4/10/2014

Just wanted to bump this to highlight the change in policy. Horses will be housed for 2 weeks. After that time, the owner will be removed and the horses will be placed in a pen for anyone to claim.

Well, I found an unclaimed horse roaming outside the lost horse stables, so I have one now. The problem I have with buying a horse, is that I pay premium for something I am completely at the mercy of the trader. I now got a horse for free that might be just as bad as what someone sells me for a ridiculous high price. You charged 31.25 stacks worth of redstone ($150) for a horse. That is premium to me - and sadly you have no reason to sell a horse any lower, because the map is limited, and the last horse should have been tamed a long time ago - meaning the only new influx of horses is by breeding them. Every resource that is soo limited can be sold at ridiculous prices, and horses are an ideal product to scam people with. There is no way to assess how good 'the product' is before you tame - and therefore buy - it.

Wise words of wisdom. However, I believe you have made an inaccurate assumption; there is still plenty of horses all over the map and, since the reset, have been spawning naturally aplenty. One area I recall being rich in a wide variety of horses is the plains biome north of my island.

Also, you may wish to look into installing a mod that can expose the stats of a horse, such as Zyin's HUD. The mod will allow you, the buyer, to more readily assess what a horse seller is attempting to sell.

I must agree cschilly, you do have a lot of horses running in the wild, but there's no more space at the horse rescue building.
