Laputa-The Castle In The Sky

Hey, I've been thinking for awhile now and I want to make something big. Something like this-------> Now many of you may know what this is from but if you don't let me give a brief summary. In the movie The Castle In The Sky "A young boy stumbles into a mysterious girl who floats down from the sky. The girl, Sheeta, was chased by pirates, army and government secret agents. In saving her life, they begin a high flying adventure that goes through all sorts of flying machines, eventually searching for Sheeta's identity in a floating castle of a lost civilization.

I've looked into it and this project is going to need ALOT of materials. I understand the construction of the Aquadome 2.0 is going on right now. So, I plan on working on this project by myself. After the Aqua Dome is finished I was wondering if I could ask for some help. I'll be setting up a donation center in my old shop. If you can spare some loose cobblestone, smooth stone, etc that would be great. But I understand if you don't want to help, with my current past. Either way, I plan on making this, with or with out help(Not trying to sound snobby). Sincerely -Bats

Sounds excellent. I'm sure people would be a bit more willing to assist if you could get a prototype up either in flatland or single player and show some screenshots of what exactly your plan is. (Or just get the basic layout sketched out.)

Also: Materials list. Give a general estimate of what materials you will need and in what amounts. Not expecting a definite number, but a guess would be good to give your suppliers an idea of what to focus on.

And question: where about do you plan on making this?

The more info you can give the people helping you, the better they can help you

First off, I don't plan on making Laputa to it's exact size but I want to make it really close. The spot I want to put Laputa is location 143,65,3732 on the Live Map(or somewhere around there) which is south/east of Eureka spawn. http://www.planetminecraft.com/project/ ... s-citadel/ <---------Pictures of Laputa are located through this link. And here is a ROUGH estimate of how many materials we will need. 25,000 cobblestone(390 stacks), 800 mossy stone(12 stacks), 2,500 Glass blocks(40 stacks), 2,700 sandstone(42 stacks), 2,500 glowstone(40 stacks), 4,000 bookcases(62 stacks), 1,000 cobblestone stairs(15 stacks), 2,000 smooth stone slabs (31 stacks), 7,000 spruce wood (110 stacks), and 3,000 oak wood planks(47 stacks). Like I said this is a rough list. These are just the raw materials. If someone could use schematica to get the exact amount of every material needed in this project that would be great. Sadly my computer cannot handle using that mod with this big of a structure. -Batsy

I'd add iron blocks and pumpkins to make Iron Golems (little know fact they are based on the ancient robots from Laputa).

I don't quite yet. I got a bit excited, got ahead of myself, and started building. Later on today I will set up a donate hand sign in my old river side shop. The Shop is directly east of spawn. Just follow the road until you come right up on it. Some other things I wouldn't mind being donated is Obsidian, torches, and saplings of any kind. I'm trying to convince Legida to build the tree for me in Laputa. -Bats

Thought I'd show you guys how Laputa is going so far. This is the most under part of Laputa. I have about 98% of the underbody shell done, then I need to decorate the insides
