The Aquadome 2.0 Thread
All,
First, please visit the original Aquadome thread for tons of screenshots and discussion about our previous attempt to build this massive underwater community stadium on the old map.
Second, I would like to officially announce that we are in the pre-planning stages for the Aquadome 2.0!
A portion of the ocean south of spawn has been sectioned off as the NEW Aquadome Development District. As per the previous district, please DO NOT build in this area. You will face the wrath of the PA if you do. ;p
Currently, we are going to begin accepting donations for supplies. Since the Aquadome was almost completed on the previous map, I was able to capture a schematic of it and analyze the blocks used. The grocery list is as follows:
All counts are estimates. Stack counts have been rounded up.
ALL DONE!!! THANKS FOR YOUR DONATIONS!!!
Currently I am only looking for supplies. Some of this will be very easy to obtain, some of it will not. As before, donations will be GREATLY appreciated! Due to the fact that 1.7 oceans are deeper, we will have to construct extra enclosures around the scoreboard circuitry and the main entrance to keep the ocean out. As such, we will need some extra blocks other than the ones listed above to match the previously exposed sections of the arena. Since I have not determined the full nature of this modification, I do not have exact totals on what will be required. The resources we will require more of are:
- Glass
- Torches (we will require significantly more to light the dry dock initially once it is completed - They will not all be used in the final build and can be returned if need be)
- Lapis Lazuli Blocks
- Chiseled Quartz Blocks
- Chiseled Sandstone Blocks
- Smooth Sandstone Blocks
- Potentially more (keep an eye out on this thread for additional requests)
If you wish to help clear the dry dock once we pick the exact location for the build, keep an eye on this thread. I will announce when the dry dock will be built and the subsequent need for assistance with clearing. I will buy items and repair tools as I can, but since the economy has been rebooted along with the rest of the map my funds will be significantly limited this go around. I suggest saving up your stone tools now if you plan to assist with construction.
After the dry dock is cleared, I will have to rebuild the Aquadome using the schematic from the old arena via Schematica. As much as I would like to have assistance, this part will unfortunately be a one-person job. Once the mostly complete arena is reconstructed, I can send out an invite to our original lead designers and any other interested parties to finish up construction.

Re: The Aquadome 2.0 Thread
I'll go start gutting deserts in resource. Should be able to grab around 6 stacks of obsidian before the weekend, no promises for more than a stack of lapis blocks, I'll modify the Netherroad supply closet to act as a glass/stone autofurnace and give any suppliers access, and any spare glowstone that I don't dump in the Netherroad or my shop will go straight to you.
And you know I think that something's important when I stop playing Monster Hunter for it ;P

Re: The Aquadome 2.0 Thread
Heh thanks all - Uekitree has been donating a lot of sand and sandstone (with the odd block of wool as well). I'll update the grocery list... Sunday Night or Monday, depending upon sobriety.
Hey, it's hard to count blocks in your inventory when there's two inventories on your screen! It gets real confusing because they both have the same items in them too...

Re: The Aquadome 2.0 Thread
Thanks to everyone for your donations!! I've updated the grocery list above to note which items are no longer needed. I will update quantities either later today or tomorrow to reflect everyone's contributions as well. For now, we do not need more of the following:
Redstone, Redstone Torches, Redstone Repeaters, Obsidian, Netherbrick blocks (we still need fences, so please keep it coming!), and Signs.
Thank you again, everyone!

Grocery list updated - No more glass, please! I do need 280+ stacks of plain sand though!
I'm testing Schematica with 1.7.2 to see if I can get it to work.

Re: The Aquadome 2.0 Thread
For anybody working on the actual construction of the Aquadome, a Netherroad has been set up leading to it. To access the Netherroad, go to the survival Nether's spawn, take the lift up sign and go down the Southern Road. It will be clearly marked which path to follow.
Also: watch your step. The Netherside platform is small, and the Overworld platform is only a block wide.

Re: The Aquadome 2.0 Thread
Yep - This is a temporary platform, so it's not exactly OSHA-compliant.
We've started work on the dry dock - Screenshots to follow later today!
EDIT: Here's a few that I grabbed while at work. I'll post another gallery later.
