[How-To] Have and play both 1.7.10 and 1.8
As of 2nd September 2014, 1.8 is out. Players may be unable to connect to TWiTCraft because their launcher is set to automatically use Minecraft 1.8. For players who wish to play on 1.8 but also be able to play on TWiTCraft can make use of the launcher to switch between version "profiles".
If you use Forge, Liteloader, mods or a custom profile which you believe has provided a custom "version", you most likely do not need to do this.
Locking your current profile to 1.7.10
You now have a profile that is locked to version 1.7.10.
Making a new profile for 1.8
Follow this second set of instructions to create a new profile that will be kept to the latest release of Minecraft (currently, 1.8):
You now have a profile that will always use the latest version of Minecraft. In total, you should now have at least two profiles.
To switch between versions, you now only need to use the "Profile" list on the lower left corner. You will know you have the right profile by checking the lower-right corner.
Hope this helps!

Locking your current profile to 1.7.10
- Open the Minecraft launcher, which should have "Minecraft" selected in the lower-left "Profile" list
- Click on "Edit Profile"
- Change the "Profile Name" to "Minecraft - 1.7.10" and change the "Use version" list to "release 1.7.10". Only change other settings at your leisure.
- Click "Save Profile"
- Select "Minecraft - 1.7.10" on the list and press Play
You now have a profile that is locked to version 1.7.10.
Making a new profile for 1.8
Follow this second set of instructions to create a new profile that will be kept to the latest release of Minecraft (currently, 1.8):
- Open the Minecraft launcher
- Click on "New Profile"
- IMPORTANT: Add "18" to the end of "Game directory". This will keep your Minecraft 1.7.10 saves and settings safe.
- Change the "Profile Name" to "Minecraft - Latest" and change the "Use version" list to "Use Latest Version". Only change other settings at your leisure.
- Click "Save Profile"

Re: [How-To] Have and play both 1.7.2 and 1.7.6
Please be advised that Minecraft 1.7.6 - 1.7.9 is out. These updates are not compatible with 1.7.5 or lower servers, so you will not be able to play on TWiTCraft with 1.7.6, 1.7.7, 1.7.8 or 1.7.9.
I have updated the above guide to accommodate this new version. If you have a modded version of Minecraft (especially if modded under my guidance on mumble), you are unaffected.
Hope this helps!

Re: [How-To] Have and play both 1.7.10 and 1.8
Bump; Minecraft 1.8 is out as of today. You may find yourself unable to connect to TWiTCraft as it is still on 1.7.10. Please follow the guide, which has now been updated for 1.8, to continue playing on TWiTCraft.
Remember: If you use Forge, Liteloader, mods or a custom profile which you believe has provided a custom "version", you most likely do not need to do this.
