I wish there was a like button. All of the bans would have a like from me. I'm glad to see this guy in particular go. He had a mistype in global chat with xray and 56 (block id for diamond, I was told) in it.

So what's worse than a worm in your apple? Way to cut off. (Note: I've since read back in IRC for the answer!)

But bravo. Too bad that area is probably all mined up now. Death to cheaters. I don't suppose there's a way to roll back all his changes within the last logging period to cementify it a bit?

Also precious was his attempt to save face on the login after his mischannel of that xray command. Logging off in shame immediately then logging on later and going "What are you talking about? This is the first time I've logged in today." when asim0v baited him in chat with a (paraphrased) "Back to continue your xraying, Opusnut?" or something. As though he was going to use the "Oh no, I must have been hacked!" alibi (but no one pursued the line of conversation, at least not publically with him).

What he forgot was that at no time did asim0v say he had been on earlier "today" doing so. How did he know asim0v was referring to something that had happened on the same day? He focused on defending against the "back" instead of the "xraying". Would you have done so given that statement thrown at you immediately when you logged in? And then happily kept quiet when it wasn't pursued further? Why did he have the need to justify that 2nd part of his statement right off the bat? Fail.

(I knew all those debating and logic-slip hunting hours in the online Mafia games would come in use someday.)

This makes me nervous - I tend to mine like that guy. Just going of in random directions seeing if there is something there.
Granted, I don't quite have his luck in finding stuff.

Yeah there's a reason he was being followed, though. He had accidentally put "`-xray id 56" or something into general chat earlier into the day and immediately logged off in a panic.

So there is an actual cheat mod with commands?

What did that command do? Spin him to face the loot or something?

it allowed him to see the Diamond ores, stones where transparent. He probably has coal and gold on that list too.

Hi Everyone,

First let me start this off with a sincere appology to those involved and the entire Twitcraft community. Regardles of the outcome of this ban, i felt an explanation was in order. Had the situation been any different, I would be with you all rallying to ban all xray'ers permanently. It does hurt the community as a whole especially when "illegally" mined/collected items can be sold for an in-game value.

My account was not hacked, but reather "hijacked". My 13 year nephew has been in town visiting and yesterday, while I was at work, decided he would supprise me by "upgrading" my minecraft client and supplying me with a stack of diamonds and diamond tools/armor. Well I sure was surprised when i went to log in last night, however it was the ban and not the diamonds that surprised me. After a little chat today I have been given the full story and he says that he had mined the one stack of diamonds as well as a hadfull of other ores along the way, which, by the way, apparently most of which was lost is subsquent deaths while mining in xray mode (helps to see where you are going). He also apologizes fro what he has done. He's a good kid and means well, just a little miss guided at times. Needless to say his computer privileged have been revoked for he near future. I dont think he realized the arseneal of tools ops have at there disposal to track such things.

I do take responsibility for his actions and my neglegance for leaving my password saved in my client (never again). At the end of the day, I can only give you the truth and let the powers that be make a decision regarding the ban. If you take a look the mines below my region, you would fine a substantial but organized and orderly branch mining operation, which is how I have mined since day one on this server. In the month and a half since I have joined this server, i have realy come to like it and the people on it. It has been my favorite so far, and I do enjoy the connection to Twit as I am a regular listener to the network. Hopefully this can resolve favorably in some manner, however if not, I understand that position as well.

Thanks for listening.

As said by others, he accidentally miss-typed a command that appeared to be activating an x-ray mod, which would allow him to see through the world to ores, caves and whatnot. There's about a half hour more video than what we posted of him. Including one point where he walks around, looking straight at the ground, then digging straight down into a dungeon. It's typically fairly easy to tell the difference between someone who's X-ray hacking and someone who simply mines strangely.

I'll look into it a bit more and see if it's worth giving you another chance, but please be patient, as I'm heavily drugged and very tired right now.

Whoops, kinda got forgotten about. Anyways unbanned for now (since the ban length would have been set to ~1 week, and it's been 1 week since the banning)

I do that as well - dig straight down, it seems an efficient way to get down., And recently i found a dungeon (assuming a 'dungeon' is where there are rails and looks like an abandoned mineshaft)
