tufkal [Update: Pardoned]
[1 Week] AFK Circumvention, 1 week. Circumventing the afk timer is a violation of rule 5, "You are not allowed to use hacks, cheats or exploits for personal gain. This includes but is not limited to fly mods, fast mining mods, x-ray, etc".
I observed this player moving back and forth every 30 seconds or so to prevent from being kicked. I messaged him multiple times to see if he was there with no response, this led me to believe he had set up some sort of script to move his player back and forth to circumvent the afk timer.
Video on file.

Busted, not denying it.
Pleading leniency to keep working on my project. With the server so new, there are so many things to do that no one has done, I got carried away. I was just getting back into my groove after being gone from the server since the 1.4 days.

Re: [1 Week] tufkal
I noticed this morning (via Vantes' Twitter account) that the server rules have now changed, to specifically list this kind of activity as against the rules (previously it was inferred by 'etc')
Obviously you guys feel strongly about this, and I can understand why. As an IT Director myself I know bandwidth is precious, as are CPU cycles (especially on a colo server like you rent). An AFK kicker needs to be in place to not slow down other peoples experience in the game. An AFK user uses up bandwidth and CPU cycles, and if everyone is online sitting at their houses waiting for their crops to grow, or walk away from their computer and forget they are logged in, you would have a huge bandwidth invoice and the server's performance would suffer.
The rule is not "stupid" as Dio suggested above, it is necessary. Do I think it should be changed to a bit longer (maybe 30 minutes), sure! If it was 30 minutes I could plant some trees, go feed my son, come back and they would be grown. In 10 minutes, not a lot of the "background" stuff in Minecraft gets a chance to work. With such a huge map and so few users right now, there is no way my chunk gets loaded when I'm not online, so nothing happens. A longer Anti-AFK timer would help a lot, but it's just a suggestion.
Again, I apologize for using the macro to circumvent that limit, and breaking the rules I agreed to when I joined the server. Again, I also plead for leniency to get back to my project that I got so excited about it led to this.

After considering your appeals, I think you've learned the lesson. Welcome back.
