The Ghost of Minecraft Past
As we start a new server from [almost] nothing, I'm reminded of the first time I started playing Minecraft. If you're like me, you have some old Minecraft screenshots laying around. Post your oldest one and and old favorite! I'll get thing started.
This first one was taken on October 5, 2010, way back in alpha before you could even hide the version number. My computer back then was terrible, so I was playing with everything set to the lowest. I may have some older screenshots on my old computer (I've had 2 since then but pretty sure I saved my screenshots), but this is what I had available to me without dragging out old systems and booting them up.

This second is in the same areas as the first but seven months later. You can even see the same tree farm on the left. It is much more developed, having been walled in and made safe. Fun fact: that wall is solid! This was my first world in Minecraft, and I kept it going all the way from alpha, beta, and the official launch until they started adding in new biomes and screwing up the terrain. I would go out and find ice in deserts, straight vertical cliff faces thirty blocks up to a new jungle biome, and other craziness.

This was taken 9/15/11, almost a year after I started my first single player world. As you can see I've set up some farms, I have a sandstone home, a storage room, mob tower and was setting up an air tram.

This was take 4/20/12, my first build on TWiTCraft, a tower where I eventually built the SGS Superstore.

These were taken on Sept 13, 2012. All the buildings by the water were all built by my son, LuigiRocks79, in his first ever single player world. When he found out that single player worlds can be opened to LAN and that I could play with him, he built me my own Batcave inside a mountain complete with an entrance behind a waterfall just like in the movie, Batman Begins. I simply had to buy my own account and play with him. From my glass perch, I could watch him play below or dive into the water to join him. His house is on the right by the nether portal. HappyCakeLover, his mother, is the yellow wool house in the middle. Great times.
