TWiTCraft 1.7 Town Hall/Meet'n'Greet/Player Meeting

All,

I've been waiting until after the new map started up to try and organize a new town hall but, since we're going off onto various different topics in multiple threads on the forum, I thought it might be a good idea for us to all come together and talk about our plans on the new map. No holding the moderators's feet to the lava bucket, begging for plugins, etc. - This will be more of a quick meet'n'greet (well, as quick as can be expected when you put Rage and myself in the same Mumble channel ;) ) instead of the usual free-for-all Town Hall meetings. We can talk about the Netherroad, future potential build projects we'd like to work on with/without the community, etc. We could also discuss the topic that van brought up about potentially reestablishing the Department of Transportation (D.O.T. or DOT).

I think our last start time of about 4pm ET (9pm GMT AKA +5 hours or whatever crazy time Warriorbox likes to use for those of us in London's time zone ;) ) on a Saturday was pretty good overall. If this time works and there's enough interest, let's try to shoot for either this Saturday, January 4th, or a week from this Saturday, January 11th. The meeting will be held in Mumble Discussion Room 4, as per usual. Click the Mumble link here for directions on how to set up Mumble, if you are unfamiliar. If the new map is open, we can also meet at the NeoLeo spawn point in-game while actually having this discussion on Mumble.

As before, you can join us on Mumble even if you don't have a microphone. Follow the provided directions to install Mumble and simply use the chat frame next to the main channel window to send a message to the group. We do our best to address all of the points brought up via text, but please be aware that sometimes text flies by so quickly that we miss things. :)

The proposed agenda:

* Opening Dialogue - Poster says hello, rambles on for a bit, uses "Um" too much, and then moves on to item #2.

* Meet'n'Greet - This time around, Poster will go down the list of players in Mumble and ask each of them to say "Hello" (if they are using a microphone) and provide any information on projects they plan to work on or would like to have brought up in the next item. No interruptions at this time, POSTER and RAGE. ;) If you would like to ask for help on a future project during the Meet'n'Greet, please mention a means of communicating directly with you outside of the Meet'n'Greet (PM on this Forum, your e-mail address, Skype name, etc.).

* The Future of the Department of Transportation - Everyone will discuss if the D.O.T. should be reestablished and, if so, how it should proceed. Topics to think about: How wide should the roads be? Should all roads be illuminated? Should roads between towns/builds be elevated to prevent mob spawns? Should we create a subterranean railway as was done on the previous map? Should we make roads that are horse-friendly (easy access, tunnels tall/wide enough to accommodate riders, etc.)?

* Meet'n'Greet Topic Discussion - If anything is brought up during the Meet'n'Greet portion of the meeting that requires further discussion/debate, we will discuss it here.

* Closing Dialogue - The two of you who are still conscious at this point shall be serenaded to your all too soon to arrive slumber by the sweet, dulcimer tones of Poster's final comments. Lucky you.

Eh Goobler comes and goes, and much like the functions of PA's liver I may make it or I may not, the time does not matter such things cannot be predicted.

I can make it basically any day at the specified time, but I can't stay too long. Need to be asleep by 5:30pm EST for work the next day.

tentative mayyyybe. if it goes on long enough i can join you after my dnd game ends early this saturday. if future ones are later on saturday or other daysof the week it is more likely to make an apearance. for me most of my social life fills up the weekends so i dont have alot of time fri-sun

A quick Mumble survey seems to imply that more people would be available later in the evening. I know this doesn't work for asim0v at all and that it puts the British Invasion in a bit of a bind, but would 6pm ET (11pm GMT) be an acceptable compromise? We're going to try to keep this under an hour and a half, but there's no guarantee it won't bleed over. If some of you can't stay the full time, let me know here and I'll try to get to you first during the Meet'n'Greet.
