No, sorry, but enjoy a quick update. All the town squares have been put into place and blended into the terrain, regions have been set up to protect them, roads have been built out to wilderness and we just have to do a little landscaping and to set up the TWiTMart and ATM signs. Oh, we still need names for each town square!

If anybody wants to help with naming, here are some screenshots of 3 town squares, the other two still need a bit of work:

One last thing, it would be nice if there was a functioning DOT organization to coordinate road placement once the server goes live.

LOL I am just floating ideas by the forum while I wait. I don't have anything solid planned yet (hence the previous question about reviving the Aquadome). I have a few other ideas for different parts of the map depending upon interest/my ability to claim the initial land I want vs. having to claim land elsewhere.

Name Suggestions:

Pic 1: "Greenville"
Pic 2: "Oakvale"
Pic 3: "Leoville"

I debated using TWiT terminology for all three, but I think only the main town really needs to adhere to that ideal. I stuck with "Leoville" because it just seemed right.

EDIT: If we do start a new D.O.T., my personal recommendation is that we stick to building roads and bridges. The rail system was useful when we didn't have alternative means of faster travel. Now that we have Stargates and Horses, the need for a railway between builds isn't as prevalent. As I've discussed in too much detail previously, I'd like for their to be a common "highway" system across the new map that would allow for players to take the relatively safer roadway and then make their own "exits" off of it into the wilderness for builds that are not going to be directly linked to the Stargate system. I do, however, feel that there is a need for the Netherroad still and I fully support Dragon or whomever wishes to rebuild it. I will try to help as much as possible.

Towns Names of the new UGGR (hows that for a claim!):

Pic 1: North Leafland

Pic 2: Tallingrad

Pic 3: NeoLeo

Not Pictured (Desert City): Proletaria (right cause it has a giant factory yet is surprisingly comfy with the wool roads)

pic 1: orangeville (i thought of appleville but it sounds like a brand-named-town)

pic 2: Treefort or Greyfort (that definitely looks more like a fort bldg with the flag than anything else)

pic 3: Embassy (representing california and twit in minecraft)
"Cakes to Dye for" is BACK . . . [west of main spawn]

We have many kinds of food, pies, all dyes and cake. No lie!

Hi, everyone!

Hoorah, naming is fun!

These are my ideas - I thought it might be fun to borrow some names from sci-fi films/shows and novels -

- For the center (the main city - image 3) - "Cornucopia" (from Hunger Games - since the Cornucopia is where you start and get all your 'stuff'!)

- Upper left town (image 2) - "New Caprica" (from Battlestar Galactica)

- Upper right town (image 1) - "Barsoom" (from Edgar Rice Burroughs "A Princess of Mars"/John Carter the movie)

- Lower right town (in the desert - image not included in this thread) - "Arrakeen" (from Dune - this one's my favourite! :) )

- Lower left town - "Eureka" (from awesome TV series Eureka)

Or just get it all from resource so the land doesn't become messed up... :D

"Just one hole" x Multiple Players = A lot of "Just one holes". Why not get together with some other players and find a mesa biome that you can level, use what you need, and then sell the rest? That way we all win - the main map looks nice AND you make a profit. :D

If we are going by compass directions, then we should include them in the names, to help orientation, but also some consistency between places.

Spawn - Centerium / Plexus / Origina / Leoville
North - North San Fran Webo
South - Southern Blackwater
West - Sarah West Lanes
East - Five Points East (Formerly Sky Five?)

Not great examples I grant you :P

The cities are in all the corners (roughly), so it's all North-West, North-East, South-East, South-West

I'm really liking Eureka as a name for one of the towns, maybe the southwest town.

Greyfort would be great for the northwestern town and Greenville for northeast town.

We should def name the main city Leoville and Tron city still needs a good name, Proletaria is not suitable.

I'd suggest Greendale, insead of Greenville. I agree the main city should be Leoville and this way we don't have two "-ville" towns.

Hoorah, Vantes, glad you like Eureka! I'd be honoured to see one of my suggestions used, it would be awesome to help contribute to our new community.

And yes, there a lot of real-life Eurekas, I think in several different states plus Australia and Canada in addition to the sci-fi show :) but I wouldn't see that as a bad thing?

For the Tron one, perhaps "Argon City"? It, too, was located "in a far-off corner" of Tron's grid universe... in the digital frontier ;)

I completely misread "TWiT Fort". I saw an "a" instead of an "o"... I need some sleep.

:O! Fine, then how about Commerce City? How about the lower left town be New Belgium.
