I started a new single player map and I cant say I am too impressed with the way biomes do transitions. It is almost worse than before and this is the big biome update...

Hmm, you may be mistaking these for 1.7.2 biome transitions. This actually looks like a 1.6.4 map being loaded into 1.7.2, hence the jarring transitions (and one of many reasons why this reset was decided)

That's odd Inert. When we were looking at seeds and flying around nothing like that was noticed. It was all nice and smooth.

I will try a new world tonight to be sure.

I think that MC just doesn't like Inert...

Re: What's Happening with 1.7
Yeah not sure. I had a snapshot world but I deleted that when I updated. I even named the world 1.7.2. I'll have to check the version number for the profile. I think I even spawned in a savanna biome so it's not a 1.6.4 world. Maybe just a bad seed?

Re: What's Happening with 1.7
oh, if we're looking for world seeds I have a good one.

It spawns you in a nice plains biome valley with a waterfall.

What would it be like if we used the same Twitcraft seed? Would be identical or would it generate differently?

Re: What's Happening with 1.7
There is a life lesson here.
Nothing is forever. Nothing is forever gone.
Its funny i was just coming to twitcraft to check up on my stuff and see if i could get a world back up and ran into this thread. I know a lot of you guys are young, so let me tell you something from older eyes. When you hold on to what is, you never will become what can be. Yes, we put a lot of work into what we did here, but just like life, it was bound to come to a end at some point and now it has. The lesson is to always go for today, never leave something unfinished and be prepared for the day you will have to let go. When that day comes dont be sorry or sad. Morn the moment briefly if you feel the need, then move on and embrace the new. There is always joy to be found and in this case its that there is a whole new world to explore. You couldnt throw a ender pearl without hitting a neighbor. When i got on this server i walked for days exploring the wild for a perfect place and I found it, built my places and made larger projects then i ever had, even in real life. Plans that literally took months of playing hours a day and that required a focus and drive that I honestly never had used before. I take the experience of creating my Mars Simulation into me and my real life. It drove my interest in mars and science and furthering my education at the time and like i said, i now know just how capable i am of completing a long term complicated project in a way i never did, all from minecraft and the twit server. So yes, i feel the pain of this event, but embrace the next experience at the same time.
Buddhist monks for centuries have created sand mandalas. They spend weeks and months bent over creating beautiful and complicated works of art. When its done they brush it all away and start over as a reminder of the impermanence of things and of the continual opportunity for new creation and experience.
Remember the monks when you reflect on this event and maybe instead of going away saddened by a loss, stay with the excitement of opportunity.

Re: What's Happening with 1.7
I have more time to be around for twitcraft now, ad after looking into 1.7 and the talks going on the last little while i was getting ready to say goodbye to my builds/stores. even if there were 2 survivals.
having my old builds trashed (i will miss hyrule castle, but there could be a new one in pretty new colors), leaves me nothing to look back to. though some of the longer-time players will be leaving for good because they dont want to leave their builds (timber and freon, i will miss you guys).
i will be there, with a fishing rod. building everything from scratch again (how many new building mats/colors do we have now? /dontanswer ) i just hope there a stiwtmart/like booth to get me started. except this time i wont be squeezing between an arena and a museum, it'll just be wilderness with the occasional pocket of bldgs.
self edit: I will be on whichever world is open when i have the time to play. hang around, chat, mumble and practice fishing.

Re: What's Happening with 1.7
I have not spent much time in TWiTCraft lately because I know its all going away soon enough. I am just waiting for the word regarding 1.7 then I hope to spend more time in there, finding some nice land in a town, laying claim then gathering resources from the resource world, and then building a new home.
Re: What's Happening with 1.7
I agree - I haven't been on the TWiT minecraft server much lately, either.
It's not sour grapes
or anything of the sort, although I will miss the builds that Helicologo and I worked on - but I just don't see the point in constructing a bunch of new stuff when everything's going to be rebooted soon.
I've kind of noticed that there might be a few others (?) feeling the same way, as the TWiT lands have seemed pretty abandoned lately - almost every time I've gone to log on and take a peek, there've been maybe 1-3 players on at the most.
... anyone know when the reboot might be, btw, now that 1.7's out?
It would be nice to get started on some NEW fun builds and get the community back together again!

In other words, we don't know. It could be a few more days, could be a few months. I'm sure Curley the Wonderful can test everything out in a few hours, main issue is everything else being updated. Just going off of how long it took to get a dev build for 1.6, I'm going to take a wild guess and say at least another month for 1.7.

Re: What's Happening with 1.7
Yeah, we have no idea really. It could take longer than normal this time because of all the networking changes.
Speaking of the server being dead, I think we need to start implementing the fun stuff on the server (the stuff that doesn't require big builds).
I think we were going to at least enable PVP on one world, but idk if that happened, and that was only the start.

Eh I think getting around spawn might be hard for a while. I say save TNT till the end.
