FPS Rate

Postby pixelsinner » 21 Aug 2013, 16:13

Hey quick question: what kind of FPS rate are you guys getting? I seem to top at 60 fps even with optifine. Now granted I run like 7 apps at once but I have an i7 MacBook Pro with dedicated graphics and a good 3 Gb of RAM piped through to MC at all times...

60 is still not bad, but you know... Just wondering.

I've got older hardware, circa 2009.

15-25 at spawn with optifine, 3-10 without. Around the world, 20-40 (rare occasions up into the 60's) with optifine, 10-25 without. I also have a crappy little laptop with a sub-par graphics card, so these aren't very good examples.

Not bad, I've got a beefier machine, though (i5-2500K, 8 gig ram)

I have a powerful desktop PC. Lots of ram, SSD, very fast cpu, gtx graphics card.

Even still the game bogs down near spawn still and bottoms out at around 50 fps (very brief spikes as low as 40ish) with optifine and an HD texture pack, all rendering set to fancy, depth and distance fog turned off and extreme render range. (My client will keep the citadel loaded and visible even when I walk all the way to the brickhouse) I devote 8gb of ram to MC and get significantly above 60 fps when I get out of town with these settings. 200 and more is not uncommon.
