What does your play area look like?
Show off your play area. No need to give away your real geographic location. Just want to know what your play area looks like.

Note: the geotag for the picture above is at a Denny's. I just moved the geotag so it wasn't pointing to my house.
Thanks,

Wow. Way too many apple products in the above images. *vomits quietly on the rug*
EDIT:
TSC: Hacintosh maybe? I have always liked the apple OSs. MS OSs were often inferior in UI design. But the price for the apple hardware always turned me off. Honestly though, MS finally created something nice with Windows 7. (Jury is out on 8) The transition from one to the other gets annoying with all the little differences in interface and shortcuts but once you learn em both, its pretty easy to swap.
Inert: Yeah if you buy a complete PC, they are usually garbage and die fairly quick. The trick with getting a good PC is to build it yourself. Then it can really be a less expensive high quality piece of hardware that you can upgrade occasionally to extend its life.

Say what you will about Apple but my Macs have far outlasted any PC I've owned. My MBP has been going strong since 08' and I play Twitcraft on it all the time.

I want to do a custom PC build but leaving OS X will be a pain.

The only thing commie about my decor is the poorly-paid worker who assembled it in China and boxed it up for delivery to Walmart.

Re: What does your play area look like?
I'm embarrassed of my play area currently, but know that a LARGE portion of my space next to my desk is taken up by my Dell XPS 720. Has to be the largest tower I've ever had. It's a pretty brushed aluminum & it weighs more than my 6 year old. XD

Taken from the Goodgear guide website:
The front & back can light up in any combination of colors, it can pulse, blink, breathe, etc. Once I clean up my play area, I will post some actual pictures.

Taken from the Goodgear guide website:
Dell's XPS 720 is aimed primarily at gamers who don't mind having the world's biggest PC in their room. While its configuration can be tailored to suit your needs and budget, the configuration we tested is tame compared to its housing, which stands about 55cm tall, 22cm wide and about 57cm deep. It's quite possibly the suburban Humvee of desktop PCs because of this impractical size.

I know! I'm ashamed to admit it, TSC!
Jay - I used to use this case years ago...

There are days I still regret giving it to my sister and her hubby, but then I remember the P.O.S. Dell they were using and I forgive myself.

Both of those cases sound a lot like mine, I've got a hulking Antec 1100 sitting on the right edge of my desk and I keep thinking about trying to hide it under my desk somewhere, until I think of the hordes of dust bunnies preparing to wage war on all electronics under there. My external hard drive enclosure just lost it's battle with the dust bunny war machine yesterday and I'm hoping that I can revive the drives in it by moving them inside the Antec case. I partially chose this enclosure because I could run the two drives in it as JBOD and hopefully avoid the problems that come from controller failure with RAID arrays. Now I get to put it to the test. Luckily I have backups if I need it.

Yeah, I've seen one similar at friend's place, though I think his was painted black, mine still dwarfs it, by size & filled weight. Not bragging really, just saying it is the biggest PC case I've ever seen, overkill for that matter. I will be keeping it for later builds. This thing weighs more than my 6 year old, and it is "dead weight" meaning it is less likely to be stolen if I ever have a break in lol.
It also doubles as a "catch-all" end table next to my desk.

Liar! Braggart!

Yeah I use to use the top of PC cases for coasters, until they started putting vent holes/fans up there... Made my beer get too warm too quickly... Then I had to drink faster... To offset the increased heat, of course. :nods:
