Latest in server trouble (bad tps / minor rollback)

Postby t2t2 » 04 Jun 2013, 22:32

So curley noticed the following during the past few days:
[3.06.2013 2:48:32] Brian curley: 18:38:45 [INFO] World "survival": 45,915 chunks, 19,375 entities.
[4.06.2013 3:17:34] Brian curley: 19:07:44 [INFO] World "survival": 56,314 chunks, 22,688 entities.
[4.06.2013 3:20:45] t2t2: sqrt(56314) = 237,3 chunks square side, * 16 = 3796,8 blocks... So basically the server has loaded chunks worth of 3796 * 3796 square

(all times eastern European)

And today:
[7:29:03] Brian curley: 23:19:32 [INFO] World "survival": 64,908 chunks, 25,600 entities.

So we restarted the server, but as noticed by players there was a rollback ~few days related to chunks. So it's most likely chunks got stuck in unsaved state.

We'll try to do a re-roll after curley backs the world up in current state just in case.

Ok restore attempted
Code: Select all
212599 events restored, 82161 skipped

(We only did it in survival, so other worlds might be still rolled back)

One thing I see that's wrong is the Leoville lot D12. the dude had a building built and now it's just a few bricks floating off the ground.

It looks like the rollback messed up part of a tunnel under my house (the one next to the TWiT Brickhouse). There were missing blocks, floating torches and rail glitches. Also, NightWorldSky's iron golem farm is missing all the new villagers created yesterday.

Thank you! Was I not saying that the server was running slow yesterday? ;)

This displeases the Edgemerian, as at least one of those chunks was mine, which now requires re-excavation :(

A chest full of diamon pickaxes would certainly make me feel better :)

Next time, remember to do a /save-all before a restart (probably after a /stoplag) to flush all chunks to disk, that way you dont end up rolling back anything, (but /stoplag may kill some entites, which Prism can rollback easily [cept creepers])

Did you do that with -no-overwrite? (best used when replaying, makes it slower, but makes less weird artifacts)

Would anyone really miss creepers, though? I mean REALLY miss them? I propose they would not. :D

And villagers. You'll get the villager back, but it won't have any of the same trades. Bit of an issue when you have the Thorns librarian.

Are chunks still not unloading or has the problem been fixed?
