1.5.2
When will twit be updated to 1.5.2?
Re: 1.5.2
We should have an announcement stickied for update information. The sever gets updated when: a) Curley has time. b) When the plugins we use on the server are updated. c) After Curley tests the update on the server to make sure its not really bugged.
Be sure before you update your client to test trying to sign in. Unless you have a client that you can easily roll back a version (which looks like will be a future client feature).

Re: 1.5.2
Just as a side note if you guys are willing to give up spigot we can update to 1.5.2 with bukkit. Also most plugins won't need to be updated since this is a minor release most plugins still function correctly.
Re: 1.5.2
Spigot does have 1.5.2 snapshots up, not "guaranteed to be stable" ofc http://ci.md-5.net/job/Spigot/lastSuccessfulBuild/

Can you still make our clients think Twitcraft is running 1.5.2 like you did with 1.5?

Re: 1.5.2
Snapshot protocol mode is not functional anymore, when enable no clients can connect at all.
As for spigot, CB is still on dev builds that are getting bugs worked out, spigot has a dev build out and some more courageous admins have been trying them, the reports seem to indicate that the most recent dev of spigot runs yet has a lot of issues with players getting dropped.
As you can imagine, ill be holding out a bit longer till things are a little more stable.

Good to see that our benevolent dictator has our best interest at heart.
Just kidding, glad to see that Curley is being cautious. To be honest, I'm not in a rush to get any new stuff. I'd rather wait for it to be stable so I can think of new ways to use anything new.
Plotting....scheming...muah ha ha ha!

Re: 1.5.2
Well, Poster, that would all depend on how you define "the cheap stuff". Are we talking nothing from the big nation breweries? Craft or regional stuff? You need to be a little more specific.

Re: 1.5.2
National brewery stuff is usually what I deem "cheap". Some "national brews" aren't too bad, however. The No-No's are: Miller/Miller Light, Coors/Coors Light (occasionally I will ride the silver bullet, but it's rare), Bud/Bud Light, Busch/Busch Light.

Re: 1.5.2
How about micro breweries I think Coors has/had one of those? Also does Blue Moon count since it's distributed by Coors? Tell us a story Unc'!
Food would just take up space that beer could be filling. -PosterAnonymous

Re: 1.5.2
I would say that "distributed" doesn't count because it's made by someone else. The true determiner of quality is the brewer, not who ships it.

Re: 1.5.2
If it's distributed by Coors, Busch, Sam Adams, etc. I do not consider it a microbrew because it's also usually brewed by the distributor (read the fine-print on the bottle sometime - Preferably BEFORE you drink the contents ;p ). Most of the time those beers are produced in the same factories as the pis--- :filtered for content: -- "the beer made for the average American's light-weight, no flavor tastes". I've heard them called faux-microbrews, which is accurate as far as I'm concerned - They're mass-produced beer designed and advertised in such a way as to deceive the average consumer into thinking it's a microbrew.
That said, they aren't all bad. I enjoy the occasional Blue Moon, Magic Hat #9, or Sierra Nevada and I still miss the indie movie theaters back in Jax that sold pitchers of Blue Moon and regular food (similar to the Alamo Draft House, but not as fancy). Let me tell you, "The Avengers" is even more enjoyable after downing a pitcher of Blue Moon... ;p
There are smaller distributors that the larger microbreweries will use to get their beers into different venues, but in those situations the distributor is nothing more than a man/woman and a truck for hauling. Rarely will a true microbrew NOT be brewed by the brewer of origin. The only situation I can think of off the top of my head is "Orange Blossom Pilsner", which was developed by an Orlando-native yet is brewed by Thomas Creek Brewery in South Carolina based off of his recipe - A licensing deal, if you will. In those cases, it's usually because the original brewer was doing it from his/her garage and doesn't have the capacity to produce for general sales nor the capital/desire to purchase the space/equipment to do so.
EDIT 1: A microbrew is, by definition, a brew made by a smaller brewer/group of brewers at a smaller facility - Usually at one or two locations in a single city/region and available in that market only for the most part. If it's made by a massive corporation at multiple facilities across the country, it's no longer a micro-operation.
You can still find microbrews at random places across the country, but it's a bit more difficult than driving to your local <insert grocery store here> and grabbing a 6-pack. Personally, I like Total Wine for my random microbrew/microbatch whiskey needs. I've been meaning to check out World of Beer, but I've heard mixed things about it.
EDIT 2: OH! The Mellow Mushroom pizza chain is a GREAT way to try some random microbrews from around the country AND eat great pizza at the same time!
EDIT 3: Favorite whiskeys - Balcones's "Baby Blue Corn Whiskey" and "Texas Single-Malt" + Palm Ridge Reserve (made in a random Floridian town you'd never expect - Umatilla). All 3 are $50+ for a 750ml bottle, unfortunately, so it's a rare treat.

Re: 1.5.2
There's also a difference between micro and regional brews. So of my favorites are bigger than a micro brewery, but not big enough to be considered a major player, either. Such as beers from Abita (Louisiana, and personal favorite) and Yuengling (Pennsylvania).

Re: 1.5.2
Yeah I like some of Abita's brews. Yuengling has a bad rep amongst my offline friends because of a vomiting incident involving Yuengling, some Tuna, and a former roommate so I tend not to drink it personally.
