TWiTCraft Town Hall Format Change

Postby thesillychicken » 21 Apr 2013, 08:47

Dear Town Hall Listener,

So what I’ve notice over the past few town halls is that it’s getting more and more out of control. When we have a room filled with 10 plus people it’s hard to get everyone’s input and opinion on the topic so what I’ve decided is that we have a format change to get ordered back into Town Hall.

Town Hall New Format:

Intro

Updates

User Interview

Round Table (4-5 users max)

Outro

I would like this format to run about 30 mins. This town hall would still accomplish the same goals as the old one but provide some new content. This one would be heavily edited so you couldn’t listen live very well. For the Round Table segment this is like what town hall has been for the past ones but down to 4-5 users instead of 10-15 it has gotten too which can get confusing. If you don’t like these changes and have something better? Email twitcrafttownhall@gmail.com for suggestions.

Thanks,

TheSillyChicken

Then I think you should change the name to "The Silly Chicken Show" instead of town hall. A town hall is all about giving members a chance to voice their opinions and concerns. What you are talking about is making a personal podcast about twitcraft that you want people to listen to later.

I haven't noticed any "out of control" moments in the town halls and think they are going great.

I agree with Dio in that the general format works. I think that while occasionally some of us enjoy hearing the sound of our voice and tend to go on for a bit too long ( :cough ME cough: ) the general format we have been using does work. Maybe TSC as the host or someone else helping run things could keep a timer running on their PC/cellphone whenever someone starts speaking and if they go on for too long the timekeeper can step in and say, "Those are great points and we can continue this discussion at the end of the Town Hall, but we need to move on. Does anyone else have anything to add?" It's a polite way of saying, "SHUT UP", and it keeps the meeting going.

Oooo You could then have an after-Town Hall session called "The TWiTCraft Debates" where those who love the sweet melodious tones of our own genius can get on and argue back and forth with each other for hours! Imagine the entertainment gold! I bet all 3 listeners would be thrilled for hours on end! ;p

What might be more entertaining is to watch you debate yourself for hours.... Now that would be a show! I'll bring the popcorn

what about music that can be muted and turned up from minimum a little at a time to tell someone to stop arguing with themselves and let the next person talk
"Cakes to Dye for" is BACK . . . [west of main spawn]

We have many kinds of food, pies, all dyes and cake. No lie!

Here is my opinion: I see town hall as 60% a serious time to get things done and 40% a time to have fun and hang out. So to me the old format is better. But what Poster said about time limits and stuff was, as spock would say, logical.

I admit that I could fall into that as well.

this is why I don't youtube/vlog, unless I can think of something interesting to talk about (excluding myself of course)
