Doing a mud run in Tampa that day - Probably won't be home before that time. Let me see if I can find a surrogate in case I can't make it...

Time can be adjusted. Had a request to do it later from one other person also.

I'll do my best to get there, but I'm not sure how long I'll be in Tampa, it takes about 2.5 hours to get back from there, and I'm going to want to bathe I suspect.

I'm asking the two big-time builders if either of them are free just in case... Not that I'd try to put them on the spot, gregor or opus... No... No... ;)

Great town hall guys sorry I couldn't make it, Most my thoughts was discussed by other people which was good I think possibly to decrease the popularity of making a iron golem machine is to remove iron from twit mart or make a public grinder like for endermen in the end (if there is such a thing let me know). Also on the same subject I have noticed a lot of deserted villages around so if you are going to be making one respect the community and leve some villagers to repopulate the town.

On the Subject of DOT there isn't much to say, DOT has a new slightly smaller and nicer looking HQ inside is a transport info booth with boards telling you how to get to certain places. If I have mist a place contact me and I will add a sign. Major work on the rail system was competed late February and it is nice to see other people building line from their builds to the hubs. There are a few lined I want to improve the main one left of old DOT is the one going to old pod six that does not technically terminate anywhere. I'll try to get this line changed asap but uni has been very busy for the past month and it looks like it will be as busy next month with exams and deadline for coursework

Regarding iron farms: I have gotten a lot of flak for using my farm from some players. Although I asked for and got mod permission prior to making and using it (yes I asked about regularly using it with an alt), I feel that the best course of action here would be to donate all proceeds earned from the farm prior to the iron sell sign's removal from TWiTMart. The farm's version one (which earned about 1200c per day) was in operation for 7 days. The farm's version two (which earned about 1800c per day) was in operation for 9.5 days. This roughly earned me 26K total. I am donating 12K to DragonofHalo (for SCIENCE!!!!! videos) and 14K to Robro (for DoT work) to help mitigate people's issue with my iron farm use and I am writing the week i spent simply making the farm, off as lost game time. If we really want to have issue with twitmart signs, then there is one in particular that should be considered for removal in addition to the iron sign .... but that is just my opinion. I can earn, with it, in less than two days, the 26K that my iron farm took me two and a half weeks to earn. Food for thought.

I think people's main problem with them isn't that it makes X amount, it's that it makes X amount by sitting in a minecart. Other signs, like charcoal, require you to actively do something to gain money. Even though it doesn't make a whole lot compared to other methods, it is one that can make you money while you sleep.

On the assumption that you are truly afk (even asleep) while you do it .... which, arguably, is as wrong as using an alt to sit at a farm while (although not afk) playing on a different acct. This issue about the farm's use is exactly why I chose to donate to Dragon's SCIENCE!!! efforts and DoT.

My objection to iron farms aside (I think they are against the spirit of survival Minecraft), I am fine with them being used, even if it's to generate money. What I truly object to are people setting up a fully automated farm where all they have to do is set it and leave, and it will continue running as long as there is someone there circumventing a server mechanic that kicks people that are idle for 10 minutes. Many times I have tried to talk to a person about a modreq they filed only to find out they just left Minecraft running at an iron grinder while they went to sleep. In some cases, multiple accounts owned by the same party have been left running for hours upon hours while they actual player was nowhere to be found.

We banned one person (2 accounts) for using a macro or some other external process to make sure they stayed online while at their iron grinder all night and day; I believe this was the first iron grinder to even show up on the server -- which has since been taken over by other players. Now we have in-game methods for doing the same thing. Short of disallowing grinders period, which will never happen, there needs to be some manner of discouragement for using server resources in an automated fashion for long periods of time while you are simply not there. The removal of the iron buying sign from TWiTMart was that discouragement. If players want to keep the iron market alive at severely inflated prices, go for it. But those resources generated will be in the game, not removed through an iSell sign. And at some point, the iron market will completely collapse because it's so common. And short of someone trying to manipulate the iron market (which wouldn't be possible with an infinite, automated supply), it will stay that way.

As I think I said on the Town Hall, I don't like the idea of circumventing the 10 minute AFK auto-kick but I don't mind the idea of standing there and collecting the iron being harvested as long as the system is non-functional when that specific player isn't online. Some felt it was shady, but I think it was exploiting a legitimate means of making money. That said, I *DO* think it was a bit of a shady/<word I can't use in the forum or filtered chat>-move to go hit up the private sale signs immediately after the TWiTMart sign was brought down. As I explained to one player who was especially hit by this action (his bank account was almost emptied), however, it is the price you pay for opening a store and not keeping up with up-to-the-minute information.

Translation: If you run a store, buy items from players, and worry about your account being emptied by a run on your store get to the Town Hall if at all possible. If you can't, get with someone who is going and have them privately contact you if it sounds like something is going to affect you immediately.

Either way, the issue has been dealt with and eventually the iron market will become stabile. For now, I would not recommend that ANYONE buy iron via iSell unless they've taken this market crash and the relative ease of obtaining iron into consideration.

True one should keep up with Town Hall if it was held fairly consistently. Also I think there should have been some sort of time period prior to taking down the sign as a courtesy, but it's also not that big of a deal so I won't press it. Goob out.

Just a heads up:
I'll be putting up iSell signs for iron in my shops in both the Mirage and Sky 5 shortly. It's going to be ridiculously low (.5c per ingot), but it will be a way to get rid of that iron piling up for some form of profit.

I don't think normal users can create "I" signs but maybe isell are allowed.

Also if you are Afk for a period of time does the Afk message automatically show up in chat? Or is that a command like /Afk? If it is an auto message maybe the time could be adjust to 10 mins and also a chat filter set up to kick you. That could get rid of the Afk issue. Turning back on the ability to die from hunger could also partially love the problem too.

Correct. iSell, iBuy, Repair, and others are not available to normal users. The iBuy sign generates new items when it is used, and the iSell destroys the items sold.

If Dragon really wanted to she can still just make a sell sign and commit to destroying it, but twit mart could easily just put up a cheap isell sign and likely probably will. Even at .5c people will still try and abuse it just not as effectively. You can't even sell something .01c cheaper than twit mart with out getting wiped out for next to no profit. With out the sign I think people lose interest, you can't naturally sell all the iron you can produce with out it being so cheap that its not worth the hassle.

Ah derp. I meant normal [Sell] signs. Got the format mixed up.
Anyway, I'm not going to destroy the iron. I actually have a project that requires a LOT of iron, and was just never willing to spend a full coin an ingot :P
And the signs are up. I can take a full double chest of ingots without going bankrupt atm. So... people of Twit, bring your iron to me!
