Special Forum [Being added to Regular Town Instead]
We will be holding a special forum/meeting just to discuss land ownership and how it should be handled properly.
We would like it have a mod around to discuss matters on the topic of land ownership.
This forum will be recored and edited in with the regular town hall as a special section.

Re: Town Hall - FEB
I will likely be able to make the town hall, but I cannot make it to the special forum. I will listen to the recorded version just as soon as it's available (maybe I can get it earlier than the recorded town hall?).
I do have a few thing I want to add to the discussion. First of all, property owners really need a mechanism to protect property. Specifically, I am talking about cities and apartments. There needs to be a way for the landlord to region protect the whole damn area and have ownership, then create sub-regions within it for a specific person. This solves a few issues: 1) We don't have to keep walking the city / property all the time and look for damage or issues; 2) Mods will have fewer small issues to take care of since we won't have to modreq things like stolen glowstone or buildings broke into. I know this has been discussed by the mods and was even discussed on TWiTCraft Podcast if I'm not mistaken. We need this feature more than we need lots in Leoville or any of the other issues that are constantly brought up.
The second topic I wanted to discuss is property speculation. I have notice a few cases where a person has fenced off an area in a popular region to claim ownership. The land has not been developed and has not been touched as far as I can tell. It seems to me, this is done purely so they "own" the land and can sell it to a developer. To me, this is a detriment to the entire server and does nothing but encourage people to "claim" large tracts of land simply in case someone may want to ever develop there. There is no effort on their part involved, no improvement. It stops a new player or anyone from building and developing the community.

Yeah I agree with the issue of over claiming of property, there's areas that are almost all signs and fences that looks bad. Maybe we should mandate dates on the reserve signs and have a limit to how long things can be reserved without building.

Re: Town Hall - FEB
I sort of agree but since I have some largish area of land behind my cathedral that I cleared fenced and lit and was going to develop by making a mini village (that was 2 months ago) but then I got swept up with DOT and overhauling the entire rail system and haven't had time to get back to it. So I get why people get annoyed with regions fended an nothing built. But I also there are a few of us that fence and start one thing and end up roped into doing something else. It definitely needs some discussion around this topic
