Mumble Ideas

Postby thesillychicken » 12 Jan 2013, 10:35

I hate to be writing this but I think it's time.

As of late more and more kids have been joining mumble which is fine but where they're hanging out is not.

How I think the discussion rooms should be layout:

Discussion 1
Kids Room

Discussion 2
Private Discussion/Overflow

Discussion 3
Overflow

Discussion 4 (unfiltered)
Main Room / High School and up / Adult Room

Also this flow/layout will help when discussion rooms are getting to full in my opinion for general discussions. Room should max out at 7-10 people after that the room gets confusing with who's talking to who etc.

If you have ideas please post below.

Completely agree! I go to unfiltered because I don't want to watch my language. An 8-year-old joins and I suddenly have to watch what I say.

honestly i think you shouldnt have to watch your language period if you are in channel 4. the kids know they are in the unfiltered chat room so its there own fault. as for the room size i think 10 is plenty with the exception of town hall meetings or other big events.

I agree with greg, if you are in discussion 4 wich is clearly unfiltered you shouldnt have to watch your language if an 8 Y/O comes on. its there fault if they hear something and they know thats its mostly adults here. most kids these days already know all the swear words anyways.

There's also the issue of not wanting to hear the chatter of children either. I was trying to skirt around actually saying it by blaming language, but there it is.

Those who talk to me in D4 know my official response to cursing in D4 while 8 year-olds are present. ;)

Gregor its not about the older people being worried about swearing, its them being anoyed by the 8-11 year old kids. thats why silly wants a room for the kids.
