A fun and somewhat profitable evening (for me, at least ;) ) was had last night! I apologize for being snippy with the handful of you who were chattering in Mumble - Maybe next time we should have a separate room for generic chat (or the organizers could just meet in the Events room)?

Perhaps we could convince the event organizers to make this a monthly thing?

Papa needs a new pick... ;)

yeah, change one of the channels to babble or general chat or something.

my mistake in betting was betting with poster on my first try. but next time. and the parkour course is remaining there, so theres no reason we (and sandy block residents) cant do this again with or without other people (re: poster, i want to win a bet once in a while ;) )

It was great fun and a mess to try and coordinate in a very short time. Props to Andrew, Vantes, Toucan, and PA for their help making the event a fun and successful time.

Heh abigail - I need to come up with a better betting system for next time. With the number of players we had competing, the odds were a little too much in my favor. I probably should have had a pool for a specific player being last/unable to finish or whether or not a specific player would be first. Next time I'll hopefully have more of a heads-up (and a better knowledge of SignShop) so I can make it more fair.

I honestly did very little, Rage. KrazyTouc (yes, that is your new nickname sir), Andrew, and van did the vast majority of the organizing.

Does this mean I have to pickup the pace of construction on Goobnesian Speedway? Lol, no prob I should have it finished in a week or so? maybe sooner.

yes, goob, you do.

as for odds, i was there for alot of the early practice. so we could do things like odds on a sliding scale for the number of people that actually finished in practice as well as odds for 2nd and third.

its complicated, and i never understood how betting worked at the racetrack. but i understand odds. and in the end poster, the gambler with the bigger pot at the start has all the odds in their favor, which is why poker games [should] begin with everyone having the same amount. so you had the odds in your favor by virtue of a bigger wallet. and you didnt put me into the poor house either, i broke even because i got my shop up and ready as soon as i did.

but yeah, varying odds for people with a reputable skill or lots of successful practice, with low paying odds for late entries (like 2;1 or 1.5:1 for people who jump in last since litle is known about where to put their odds). with prep i could come to the races with a crapload of signs and we can get a betting board up.

and i want to keep trying betting if only to win a bet over you poster, atleast once. gotta keep playing the game to do that
