Impending change-Outworldland land /home usage
I don't remember if I posted this already or more likely if I typed it out then forgot to proof it/publish it so forgive if this is duped somewhere.
I'm planning on disabling /home usage in the outworldland end. This will not affect homes used in the nether or surface and anyone with a current home there will have their /home removed. This change is due to two reasons. 1 I left homes on in the Outlandworld cause while its meant to be a hard world it helps removed some of the tedium of traveling back and forth on a mining trip 2 I overlooked how essentials stored its data and assumed homes made in the outworldland were removed upon world deletion, which is not the case. While that may not seem like a big deal since the seeds change/running the risk of ending up splinched in a mountain, some more entrepreneurial members have been setting homes in the End to instant warp there on reset to fight the dragon as soon as the world resets.
The following is my opinion and I haven't talked to the other mods yet so do not refrain from telling me if I'm wrong here but I feel this is against the fairness we were trying to shoot for in the weekly dragon opportunity and more so than a fairness thing it stops what I love most about the dragon, everyone getting excited and teaming up with armor, consumables, and weapons, clamoring through the gate and hunting for the Ender gate. I love seeing players all together doing stuff like that.
If this isn't greatly opposed I'm planning on implementing this change with the next end reset.

Guilty as charged ....
I think that the idea is a good one Curley. I took advantage of setting /home in the outworld end for two weeks in a row in order to get a leg up on the dragon hunt. I felt no remorse in this exploit considering certain ... past events. However, that said, I have my two eggs and am happy. I would love to continue to hunt the dragon and help other players get their eggs too ... (cough cough ... Opusnut) in a much more legitimate manner.
I would like to say that the choice to do this is not without its hazards. By placing /home in the outworld end, there is no way (short of death) to return to any safe location without killing the dragon first. It is quite a risk as I almost died several times and chose to overstock on potions, weapons, etc, to make sure I was completely prepared before entering. Of course dying means the probable loss of your best stuff .... (getting knocked into the void isnt fun)
Thanks for keeping us informed.

I wasn't going to mention any names but yeah, your use is what sparked me noticing it. I hold no blame or disregard as really it's my oversight that caused the issue to begin with. I try to sure up all exploits before going live with things but miss some here and there. If it was game breaking I'm sure you would have notified me.

If I thought it was a big deal, I definitely would have said something. Other Dragon hunters found their way to the end before 30% of the battle was over last time. I hadnt even knocked out half the pillars before I had company in fighting the Dragon with me so the exploit is definitely not a "game breaker." Just a minor speed advantage. Honestly I didnt even know anyone cared that this exploit existed, considering my prior experience with decision making regarding the outworld end on this server. That said, from now on lets definitely do it the right way.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Re: Impending change-Outworldland land /home usage
So to make this clear what I think you are saying is You would disable /sethome from working in the outworldland (not /home)
The command /home would still work if your home was set somewhere other then outworldland End
Correct?

Re: Impending change-Outworldland land /home usage
Yeah the change would be that any players current /home location in the End in the Outworld would be deleted. and /sethome would cease to function in the End in the Outworld only is my understanding. /sethome and /home will still function everywhere else in the Outworld, just not the End.
