I tried it earlier, i didn't see any core usage changes on the single player mode. Even with the LAN turned on.

this Post seems like a good place to ask this question. i was talking to curley in game and asked if he would be willing to do a snapshot world for testing 1.3 and he said he doesn't think many people will be interested in it so here it is. If you would like to test 1.3 on a server post something here stating that fact.

Get your minecraft.jar (on windows it's in %appdata%/.minecraft/bin) and send it to him (Won't share it myself here because it's against TOS)

ya i guess that works. also i think its only against TOS if they dont already have minecraft
