Sky5 Mall Rules
Getting a Shop
Find an available shop that you want. On the left side of each doorway is a sign with the shop number and the owner’s name. If there is no owner, it will say available instead. Once you have a shop selected, talk to either asim0v or torontomario (henceforth known as Management) in-game to claim the property. Each shop has its own region, which you will need to be added to.
You must be in good standing with Sky5 City. You need not be a resident of the city, but you may not have a shop if you have been evicted from the city.
Pricing
All shops are priced at $350 per month. Note: prices are subject to change. You will have notice at least 4 weeks before a price change.
Building Your Shop
The external structure of the shop may not be altered without explicit permission from mall management. The side walls and floor may be removed or replaced if you wish. Please donate the materials back with the Donate Hand sign in the Sky5 City Hall.
If you wish to make alterations to the structure outside of your region, special consideration may be made, but the decision of Management is final.
Storage
No shop storage is provided. If you wish for storage within the shop, it is your responsibility to protect your own chests.
Paying Rent
There will be rent payment signs in the Rental Office for each lot. Simply use your payment sign when it’s time for you to pay rent. Payment of your first month is due at the time you are added to the shop region. Please pay whoever adds you to the region, either asim0v or torontomario. Rent payment may be made for up to 3 months at a time.
There will be a calendar that lists when your rent is due. That is the only notice you will receive. It is your responsibility for paying each month and keeping track of when you need to pay.
Failure to pay rent will result in your shop being closed to traffic until payment is received plus a $100 late fee. If two weeks have gone by without rent being paid, your shop will be removed. Contents of the shop will be available to you, but your shop will be taken down.
Vacating Your Shop
You may vacate your shop at any time, however, rent is non-refundable. So if you paid on the first of the month and wish to vacate on the third, you are out any rent paid including pre-payment.
Please unlock any doors, chests, and signs added to the shop which you are not taking and remove any items or blocks you placed within the shop.
Shop Removal by Management
Your shop may be removed by Management for the following reasons:
1. Scamming players - Having signs that list one item and selling another
2. Failure to pay rent for longer than two weeks.
3. Permanent banishment from the server.
4. Eviction from Sky5 city - If you are a resident and have been evicted from the city, your shop will also be removed.
Free Kiosks
Note: Kiosks are not ready quit yet, but should be soon. Check back for more information.
Free shops will be available in the form of kiosks. A kiosk may not be owned by a player that has a shop in the mall. Kiosks must be maintained in the same manner as shops, and all the same rules apply.
There are a limited number of kiosks, so there may be a waiting list.
Miscellaneous
While there are no codified design guidelines, please try to make your shop appealing. This means no dirt hovels or traps to harm other players.
Shops are regioned protected in such a way that mob spawning is denied, thus you do not need to worry about lighting levels within the shop. That being said, please make sure there is enough light for players to find their way around easily.
Item frames are fine to use, but excessive users may be asked to remove some.
All rules are subject to change. A notice of rule changes will be made on the original forum post as well as signs posted in the mall.
