Rules Room

Saw this on Reddit and thought it was brilliant. Would love to see something similar on our server. http://imgur.com/a/lWQCh

twitcraftrocks?

I thought there was already protection on the server. You want to have a fake password for people who read through too quick?

The twitcraftrocks system works but requires a mod and throws unexperienced players into the act of typing commands (/help /help 2 /pw twitcraftrocks)

Seeing as this uses the command blocks It's not only very cool but would be one less thing that breaks on updates.

To gain more new player knowledge of the forums. What if when a user types /rules it brings up a link to the forums where the rules are? That way they have to click through to the forum to get the password. It could also direct users to look at the threads involving setting up regions, locks, shops, maybe one that explains resource world, ect.

I like the idea of a rules room where it could also teach users how to also lock their stuff.

I've seen some pretty complicated systems on other servers, one even involved passing a quiz before you were allowed out to play.

Had an idea. I don't really think it'll ever be implemented, but it's nice to throw it out there.
Based on the button thing, have two buttons. Rather than have the "wrong" button ban/kick the player, have it transport them to a wondrous place known as the Derp World. These people that cannot follow simple instructions will be locked into said derp world until they go back into the lobby and read the rules. In the meantime, they can continue to derp up that world without causing harm to Survival. (I foresee many cobble boxes.)
Timber fleshed this idea out: Have these players considered a different class than normal players, mods or admins. They could be solely citizens of the Derp Realm and not have any of the same permissions as other players. Maybe even different chat rooms! :D

I like the link posted by asim0v. It bans the player for a day, which will encourage all but the most determined of griefers to go elsewhere. I would add something along the lines of "You can appeal this ban on the forum at http://mc.twit.tv/" to try and funnel the players who truly wish to play into the forum.
