Big Ticket items

Postby Timberwolf1777 » 15 Dec 2012, 14:17

I would like the community's help to come up with ideas for Big Ticket Items.

Having high value things or services for the wealthier players to purchase that they can't get from playing vanilla style Minecraft on TWiTCraft will add a fun an interesting dimension to our gameplay experience and economy. I have thought of a few (listed below) and come up with comparative pricing ideas. Either one or more players also should be allowed to pool their wealth to accomplish these.

Leoville Lots: (I know this is a work in progress for the mods)
Maybe either or both of these options: 4000c deposit and then 200c per month rent or 20,000c flat amount where you only need to log in once a month to keep your house lot.
Stargates: (requires some Mod work to make it functional though Curley seems to like the idea viewtopic.php?f=14&t=360&start=20 )
30,000c investment from one player or a community of players wanting to place a stargate for their far away home or town. We will need to devote some of the Leoville lots right near spawn to stargate placement.
Region size expansion: (Still no idea if this is possible - I know D5 said buying more regions is impossible)
Want a bigger region claim? 20,000c gets you a 60,000 block region, 40,000c gets you a whopping 120,000 block region!

Please share other ideas!! Thanks

Nice list, I think Curley has indicated all three should be available soon. Quick thoughts on pricing.

Leoville Lots should be priced at 10,000 coins not 20,000. With about 40 available lots in Leoville and only about 6 people with over 30,000 coins it makes sense to lower the price to make them available to a wider market.

Stargates should cost 15,000 coins not 30,000. Again, only six people with over 30k, lets make them available to more players and more groups of players.

Region size expansion should cost 5,000 coins for a standard 30,000 block region, 10,000 coins for a 60,000 block region and 20,000 coins for 120,000 block region.

Remember we are trying to encourage people to spend money, not hoard. Lower prices are more attractive to buyers and broaden the market.

I think the usage of the lot should influence the price.

LOWEST - personal (using it as a home for yourself)

MEDIUM - rental (renting small buildings or apartments)

HIGHEST - retail (using it to sell goods)

Personally I think these should be very exclusive and priced high enough that you get real kudos for being able to afford one and more importantly, so they don't all get sold within a matter of weeks.

Couple of questions:

- Will people be able to sell the entire lot to someone else (either developed, or undeveloped)?
- Will there be a height restriction on the buildings to prevent skyscrapers?
- Do you care if the buildings look a bit rubbish (we are not all great designers)
