Monthly Reset of Flatland

Postby thesillychicken » 10 Oct 2012, 13:58

As many of you know we have a flatland on twitcraft. But I've been seeing it start to suffer the same fate as creative did. Most things built in flatland are mostly prototypes and are half built and most users never go and finish it. I figured to keep flatland fresh we should do a monthly rest of it. I know a lot people have built pixel art in flatland so what i was thinking is that we copy and paste the pixel art region to the "somewhere else world" then paste it back in but this probably wouldn't be very efficient. If you have any ideas/suggestion/comments please leave them below.

Not sure about monthly, but I do agree that we should occasionally clear out flatland and put up the previous map for download/torrent.

I agree with the reset just so we can keep the world "brand new" all the time.
But i think the reset should be after we update Minecraft to the latest version, kinda like nerd.nu does.

I like this Idea only if user can select some of there projects to save so that they don't have to rebuild. I for example have built lots of prototypes and construction there some I don't care if they get deleted but some for example A 4 way Minecart station where users can select there way of travel (north south east west) via the buttons they see. it required a good deal of redstone and time to organised the track I I would hate to see it destroyed

Would it be possible for users to select constructions they want saved before the reset. or have a an area of saved constructions so that they wont be lost in a reset so we don't have to download the saved map and log in and out of the server?
