colored tab list or tab completion

Hey so a bit back I implemented a plugin that niftily color codes the player list window to show mods and twit employees and stuff. I think it looks neat and all but it came with an issue that caused tab completion (the thing where you start to type a few letters of someones name and then press tab to auto-complete the rest) to not function. To me no tab completion makes me feel like i'm playing with mittens on over fingers that have been chewed off, but i also ADORE the look of the player list. I just got a response from the dev and he said that until bukkit alters their API we're stuck with one or the other.

So I'd appreciate if you guys would weigh-in and make my decision for me.

i saw a youtube video of someone that implemented this plugin and they added a prefix to the names. adding the prefix allowed them to autocomplete names based on the fact that bukkit sees the color/prefix as part of the name they added an uncolored prefix a [A] for admins allowing [A]-tab completing the name of the admin that was online. The colors are great, but tab complete beats it for me. Call me lazy.
