The Must Have Mods for Minecraft
Must Have Mods for Minecraft
Optifine | Download Ultra HD | Forum Post
What is Optifine? Optifine is a great mod that adds more options to adjust video settings and use HD Texture Packs.
Rei's Minimap | Download | Forum Post
What is Rei's Minimap? Rei's Minimap provides an in game map. Another bonus of the mod is waypoints and death points.
Tabby Chat | Download | Forum Post
What is Tabby Chat? It provides more advanced chat functionality in Minecraft.
MC Patcher | Download Mac/Linux Windows | Forum Post
MC Patcher is what I use to load up these mods. It takes the mess out of having to open up the jar file. You can use other things like Magic Launcher that let you make mod profiles. But with my use of it cause more frequent crashes/hiccups with Minecraft.

Is this allowed while playing on TwitCraft?

I think pretty much any thing goes as long as it doesn't involve x-raying.

Re: The Must Have Mods for Minecraft
Yes all these mods are ok to use on TWiTCraft.
Re: The Must Have Mods for Minecraft
Everything on Chicken's list is fine. I run them all myself, actually. Had to start using MCpatcher for mods again since MagicLauncher hasn't been updated in ages and causes bizarre problems.

This mod will not work as it needs client and server side support and if it did work it would be a banable offense.

Rule #5 You’re not allowed to use Hacks, cheats or exploits to benefit you in the game. This includes but not limited to fly mods, fast mining mods, etc.

Yeah just use mc patcher it does all the work for you no modloader needed
Re: The Must Have Mods for Minecraft
Modloader is itself a mod. If you're just running Rei's and Optifine, you don't need it. So add Optifine and Rei's to MCPatcher and patch it with just those. You can skip (uncheck) all the other stuff in MCP too as Optifine handles most of it.

Re: The Must Have Mods for Minecraft
ok, when i crack open 1.5 minecraft the exact name and steps of what i want to do will come back to me. i think im getting loader and patcher mixed up.
and one of the latest omgcraft spotlights pointed out the order things sit in magic launcher affects things. with what you guys and chad are saying. i should be able to make this work. i have been putting off modding for twitcraft since 1.5 came out, especially since i have 2 computers with not quite the same build. its only 2 mods, but managing the jars and 2 computers take a bit of modivation to get me going even though its not a huge amount of work

I use MagicLauncher with 1.5.1 for NEI(in recipe mode), Rei's Minimap, and i use Forge Universal to load them all. So i dont know why you have problems Asim0v

I'm not the only one. Many people have reported issues with MagicLauncher since 1.5 in the ML thread.

Magiclauncher has worked fine for me as well. I have Rei's Minimap and TabbyChat (and Modloader and Forge, of course) loaded on it and it works fine.
Edit: Cut the images, didn't work, just said "Image".

Re: The Must Have Mods for Minecraft
I recently switched to using MultiMC for mods, here is what I use:
In the JAR:
OptiFine - Various graphical imporvments
Forge - loads mods
LiteLoader - same as above
Mods Folder:
Inventory Tweaks - Awesome sorting (some gets killed by NCP (not sure why))
LightLevelOverlay - Does what is says
Schematica - Ghosts schematics client-side, makes replicating structures easier
TukMC - Various UI improvements (conflicts with tabbychat, which was crashy anyways)
VoxelLib - a library
HD Skins and capes - Does what i says
Integrated Soundpacks - allows texturepacks to have sounds
Macro/Keybind - Binds commands to keys (great for worldedit)
VoxelMap - A minimap, I like it better than rei's (mainly cause I really dont like rei's waypoints, and the cave mode is not cheaty)
VoxelMenu - Makes the main menu and pause menu MUCH better
VoxelGet - Kinda like NEI, but only works where you have permissions (not on TC)
VoxelSniperGUI - A GUI configurator for voxel sniper
WorldEditCUI - Lets you see your worldedit selections

Re: The Must Have Mods for Minecraft
If you Have A slow computer you should install optifine lite as it focuses on lag busting however it doesn't have HD texture support.
